Dear Mr. Yunus,
Re: Extension of Service

I have to thank you for your letter requesting an extension of your services with us for another two years, on your reaching the retirement age of 55 years. I, however, regret to inform you that I am not in a position to accede to your request though your services have always been regarded as very valuable to us, as the rules of our company are quite rigid on the matter.
You will, therefore, excuse my inability to provide the relief you seek. However, I am prepared to give you a good reference to enable you to find employment in some firm where the retirement age is not so rigidly observed.

Yours faithfully,
Henry Williams
Manager

Dear Sir,

Re: Extension of Service

As I am about to attain the retirement age of 55 years, I am compelled to appeal to you for consideration of extension of my services with you for at least two years.
You are aware that a few of my children are still pursuing their university studies, and my retirement at this moment will disrupt their studies and nullify all my efforts to give them a good education.
Knowing how considerate your are, I feel confident that you will not hesitate to extend my services with you for another two years by which time, God willing, my children will have completed their studies.
I assure you, sir, that I will continue to work with the same zeal and efficiency as I have done so far, if you accede to my request.

Yours respectfully,
Taha Yunus

This is to inform you that we no longer require your services, which have been degenerating in quality for some time.

Dear Mr. F.R. Wellington,

Thank you for your letter drawing my attention to your plight. I truly regret having overlooked your position for so long. I can imagine the trials and tribulations that you have undergone through the years.
To correct the injustice that has been done to you inadvertently, I have instructed our accountant to raise your salary to RM1600 with effect from, the 1 st of this month, and to pay you RM5000 immediately to relieve your distress to some extent.
In conclusion, I wish to say that I have received very favourable reports from our staff about your service, and I am sure you will continue to work with the same zeal and dedication until your retirement. I, on my part, assure you that the injustice done to you in the past will not be repeated.

Yours sincerely,
